John Runnels

Runnels paints in the impressionistic style and prefers to work in oil on larger canvases. Capturing the movement of our quaking aspen trees in all seasons. He also paints abstract designs.

Raised in the Colorado mountains, John loved the outdoors and spent his summers in the Spanish Peaks with his Grandparents. After Graduating from College with a minor in Art History, John joined the Air Force as an illustrator and painted in acrylics.

Years later, John attended a class led by Robert Moore, which rekindled his love of painting and impressionism. He started painting in oils, and it became an integral part of his life.

John Runnels currently resides in Central Oregon. It is a beautiful place and gives him a chance to go back in time to the great days outdoors with nature.
